Photographer | Bassoonist

As a musician -

I began playing music in third grade, starting with saxophone, focusing mainly on jazz. I picked up bassoon somewhere along the way, and in 2012, it became one of the main focuses of my life. I became principal bassoonist the Puget Sound Symphony Orchestra and finished my music degree at the University of Washington, where I studied with Seattle Symphony Orchestra’s principal bassoonist, Seth Krimsky. I have been actively engaged in the classical music scene in Seattle since 2012, and I currently work for Classical KING 98.1, Harmonia Orchestra and Chorus, and play in Winds5, a Seattle-based woodwind quintet.

As a photographer -

I began taking pictures around 2007, and since then I’ve been documenting parts of my life, from my old tour days with my band, to getting hired to shoot for the Seattle Rock Orchestra. Most of my work revolves around street photography. I find it extremely therapeutic to pick a neighborhood in Seattle and spend hours wandering around with my camera and seeing what catches my eye. It’s amazing the things you notice when you explore the world through a camera.
